Badgers Red & Black 05/10

Sikh Union Badgers 5 : 0 Adders Badgers 2nds
In their first ever league game for the Adders the Badgers 2nds put on a gutsy performance against a physically stronger and much older Sikh Union team. Despite going 4:0 down at half time the team tightened up their marking and defended brilliantly. The second half saw just one more goal with outstanding team work from Ellen Simmons, Jack Hobbs, Thomas Gardner, Kayden Forryan, Amreen Kaur, Mimi Currie,Fiona Hart , Tyler Hart, Emily Dipple and Thomas Parsons. Henry Shepherd was outstanding in goals saving shot after shot from every part of the D over and over again. A big thankyou to Donna Davies for mentoring the team on the pitch and for her nifty first aid skills which were needed on several occasions!

Adders Badgers 1sts 2:0 Cov NW
Scorers: Luke Iliffe and Emily Bewsher
Player of match: Bradley - Wakeford- Davy
This was a very encouraging start to the league season for the new look Badgers 1st team. With the luxury of 3 subs the team continuously rotated their players and everyone showed their versatility playing in different positions across the pitch. The midfield worked hard both in defence and in building their attacks. Every player battled well in a very even first half with the score line 0:0. The breakthrough finally came as a well worked passing play found Emily Bewsher who slotted away a neat goal to give the home side a well deserved lead. Drama at the other end saw a goal - line clearance from Danny Roberts to keep his side in the game. Luke Iliffe showed some nifty footwork as he put away a fine pass from midfield to secure the 2:0 victory.
Thanks Simon Thompson for his guidance on and off the pitch as he made his all important debut for the Badgers.
