Ladies 2nds 3 v 2 Barford Tigers 2nds

Scorers: Becky Williscroft(2), Rachel Roberts
Player of the Match:Charlotte Hussey
Donkey of the Day:Dawn Orton

The Ladies were up early to face their nemesis Barford Tigers to avenge the loss earlier in the season. A good start by the Ladies, was quickly quashed by a Tigers goal against play.

This did not stop the Ladies from pushing on, to seek an equaliser, which came from a well executed short corner routine which saw Becky Williscroft slot it home. This was swiftly followed up by another Williscroft goal, in another delightful short corner routine, leaving the ladies on top of the Tigers at the end of the first half.
Following a Parson’s team talk, with instructions for marking, using the width, some positional changes and the order to want it, the ladies trotted out fired up to bring the 3 points home. The second half was a tense and exciting half, made more so when Donkey of the day Dawn Orton gifted the Tigers a second goal by deftly slotting the ball past the keeper into her own net.
Charlotte Hussey earned the well deserved MOM with some awesome saves that kept the ladies hopes alive. The final goal came from another penalty corner routine with a killer strike using the stick of power from Rachel Roberts. The Tigers have now labelled the Adders as their Carole Baskin and will be fired up to avenge this result on the return fixture.
This results sees the Ladies sitting at the top of the league and sets them up nicely for another tough fixture against second placed Rugby next week.
