Berkswell M1 0 v 10 Mens 1sts

Scorers: J.Wagg(3), M.Webb(2), C.Hobbs(2), S.Hirons(2), B.Matthews

The Adders Mens 1sts side continues to make and break records! A 10 goal performance with 5 in each half, the 100th League goal in only 14 games, and an emphatic league victory over their next EH Cup opponents - the side once again looks invincible as it heads for its third league title in as many seasons!

Berskswell put up a spirited performance as they tried to match the Adders pace and power in the early stages of this encounter, but they were outplayed by the youthful Adders midfield and out thought by the mobile Adders forwards. The early domination of the game by the Adders was only matched by the outstanding Berkswell keeper who thwarted several Adders shots on target.
The opening Adders goal came after 10 minutes when Ben Matthews deflected a well rehearsed Adders short corner routine over the prostrate keeper. From then on there seemed to be a resignation from the home team that there was only going to be one outcome from the next 60 minutes of hockey - and they were correct!
Josh Wagg scored the first goal of his hat trick and the Adders 100th league goal of this seasons campaign from a second short corner before three more first half goals followed. The best one was an excellent team goal assisted by Wagg and tapped home by Cameron Hobbs.
The Adders defenders seldom came under pressure, but when they did keeper, Will Parsons looked solid as he marshalled his defence and dominated the Berkswell forwards.
The second half was all Adders as they added another five goals to give them a double figure tally for the third time this season. The pick of the second half goals was a superb counter attack involving Rob Currie and Josh Wagg which was swept home by Wagg to also complete his hat trick.
