Mens 1sts 8 v 0 Leicester 1sts

Scorers: M.Webb(3), J.Wagg, D.Johal, B.Matthews, S.Thompson, J.Hobbs

First team full back Jake Hobbs scored his second goal of the season as he opened the scoring for the Adders Mens 1sts against a tired looking Leicester side. There was also a rare goal from Simon Thompson as the home side cruised to victory and a four point gap at the top of the East Midlands 1 league table.

The outcome of this game was never in doubt after Hobbs fired the ball home from the edge of the D to open the scoring after just five minutes. A series of team goals ensued until half-time and with the score at 6-0 by the break time whistle the game was in the bag for the Adders. Skipper, Martin Webb celebrated his selection to the England O35's team for the forthcoming Home Internationals and World Cup by grabbing another hat-trick and Daman Johal was once again back on the scoresheet.
Not surprisingly the home side took the foot off the gas in the second half but still managed to notch up 2 more goals. With one eye on the following days last 16 Cup match this game petered out into a one sided practice game for the Adders.
