Mens 1sts 7 v 1 Derby 1sts

Scorers: L.Crowley(2), J.Bullmore, R.Currie, M.Webb, D.Johal, C.Hobbs

Both of the Adders full-backs, Lloyd Crowley and Jack Bullmore managed to get their names onto the scoresheet as the side came from behind to beat a much improved Derby side. Robert Currie also scored his first goal for the Mens 1sts in a great team performance.

Earlier in the season the Adders had comfortably beaten Derby 9-0 but their recent results showed that they had improved as a side and so Martin Webb's team were expecting a much tougher fixture. It was Derby who went ahead early in the game with a controversial short corner goal. The Adders responded well but the Derby keeper was in superb form and kept the Adders forwards out with a series of great saves. It was skipper Webb, though who struck the equaliser from an Adders short corner and from then on it was one way traffic as the side set seige on the Derby goal.
With the half time whistle approaching the Adders got their noses ahead with a Lloyd Crowley short corner strike and a thunderous shot from Jack Bullmore. From then on there was only going to be one outcome to the match as Derby started to succumb to the Adders pressure.
The second half brought goals from Cameron Hobbs and Daman Johal, plus a well deserved debut goal for 16 year old Robert Currie and a second for Crowley.
