Atherstone knew this was going to be an extremely tough match as they were on equal points with their opponents. Despite Hampton taking the early lead from a penalty stroke, the Adders kept up their intensity of play and were rewarded with a Kara Edwards short corner.

An inspirational substitution by coach Laura Webb saw Danielle Clarke dribble up the left wing, past a couple of defenders and smack it past the Hampton keeper. 2-1 at half time to the Adders.

Hampton came out hard in the second half and were gifted their second goal by a corker of a defensive error. However the Adders continued to work tirelessly with player of the match Georgia Ellis connecting with Emma Snowdon who slotted it reverse stick past the keeper.
The Adders were ahead again.

Hampton upped the intensity once more and equalised with 10 minutes to go, just in time for Kara Edwards to receive a yellow card for yet another dodgy stick tackle. The Adders were down to 10 again!

Hampton threw everything they had at the Adders, but they kept Hampton out even when they were reduced to 9 players as Captain Alice Burridge was green carded for ‘advising’ the umpire!

Final whistle 3-3, the Adders were disappointed as they could have won, but mightily relieved to bring home 1 point.
