Whilst the Winter hockey season has concluded, Summer hockey is now getting started which will include four Adders teams compete in summer leagues, plus friendly turn up and play club sessions down at The Queen Elizabeth Academy in Atherstone on Friday nights starting on 10th June through to 15th July.
The Men will be fielding two teams – Adders (drawn from 1st & 2nd squads) and Cobras (drawn from rest of the Mens section). The Ladies will be fielding one team, drawn from 1st and 2nd squads. Finally, Adders will also be fielding a Mixed Team which will play in the Ashby Mixed Summer league.
For the Ladies, Summer league games begin today (3rd May) and Men games begin on 18th May with all games now listed on Pitchero. Mixed league games start later into the Summer in July.
All players wishing to be considered available for Summer games should request to join the four squads so the Summer Captains can pick teams for upcoming matches as follows:
Adders – Paul Negus
Cobras – Eddie Parsons
Ladies – Alice Burridge
Mixed – Graeme Willmot
Our Club friendly Summer sessions are planned to commence on Friday 10 June with Junior & Badgers session 6.30 – 7.30pm and Mixed Seniors session 7.30pm – 8.30pm. Our Summer hockey friendly evenings especially provide a great opportunity to welcome new players, or those who might want to get back to hockey, so new faces will be welcomed, as well as any friends and family that might want to stop standing on the sidelines and get on the pitch! Further updates will be posted on Pitchero and on social media, but for any further questions please contact Club Chairman Joseph Kobrin.
